    Hi All

Can anyone help me get our new Samsung Galaxy 2 working with Exhange? I've seen other posts here so know that some posters have it working away.

I've had a couple of techie guys look at it and we seem to be going around in circles. Not getting anywhere with O2 and have tried lots of stuff suggested online with no luck. Are we missing something really simple?

We have Exchange (SBS 2003) and OS version 2.3.5.

It's driving me nuts because of course I chose this phone for work colleagues and now they all tell me I should have got iphones!!! grrr

    Rebecca

Can you use your phone's web browser to go to https://{your exchange server ip address}/oma? It should ask for your username and password (use the same credentials you use to sign into your work pc) and then it will tell you the browser is unsupported. Tap ok and it will give you a basic text version of your Exchange mailbox. If you can't browse to this, it's a problem on the server side or with your firewall port forwarding.

If you can launch that from the phone browser, then your settings on the mail client are incorrect.

I'm assuming you have a ssl cert installed on the server and on your phone.
Here is how mine is set up:

Domain\username - SBS2003 will want you to sign in with \username here. Don't put in any domain details but do have backslash before your username. SBS2008 needs the domain details entered but that doesn't matter to you.

    Password - obvious

Server - the external ip address of the SBS server. This can be found by going to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ from the server itself.

Make sure Use secure connection is ticked and Accept all SSL certificates is unticked.

Feel free to PM me if you need more help.

Edit: Hey boardsies, how do I stop the oma piece in the first line appearing as a hyperlink?

    I'll do it another way:

Very important, ask the It guys to check if you have access to Windows Mobile and/or Active sync on the Exchange Active Directory account profile !!

    Option 1:
-Tell the other guys to enjoy their iDevices and to shut up ! :)
-Ask them to show you what settings they have on their working phone:

    domain name
    username
    password
    server:
    ssl: on /off

-Replicate it on your phone ,replace your login details!

    Option2:
Ask the techie guys if they use as the OWA (Outlook Web Access) address the IP address (in format:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) or the server name (in format:mail.youroffice.ie).
Sometime the SSL certificate is not ok if used IP address rather than server name !

-From desktop in the office,go to www.ipchicken.com and see what IP address AND name address is listed there.

    -From home,go to
    first: http://ipaddress/exchange
    second :https://ipaddress/exchange

-If works fine on one of them, then try the one that worked,ie https://ipaddress/exchange = ok,-=> use like this:
    https://mail.youroffice.ie/exchange
(the difference is in the "s" -=> secure with https or not secure with http)

-Check if the SSL certificate is coming as valid.
-Try to login ,possible will be your email address and your password (try with the username,as in the office too).If all ok,happy day !

    On the phone,try:
*username:email address or the username (can be both or none, see which one worked in previous web based login)
    *password:login as per desktop
    *server name: mail.youroffice.ie
*check both : use ssl connection AND accept all SSL certificate

If it works on the web based,it should work on your phone too..
    Have fun.
