Omega 1960's (?) Worth much

Long time lurker on this thread, and finally got around to asking a question that's been in the back of my mind.

I was left a watch many years ago, and even wore it for a while as an 'everyday', but I haven't worn it in years.

It's an Omega, with no other markings. The back is steel(?) and the case is rose gold. The watch is running now (I wound it gently and it's ticking away) - I haven't even touched the watch for 10 years or so.

    Case Dimensions: 40mm (excl crown) x 4mm.

Any info would be appreciated -do you know what model it is, and should I declare it on my House Insurance?

    Many thanks!

40mm is a good size for vintage which adds value. Age wise it looks more 1960's to me, but could well be 50's. I doubt the case material is rose gold. It's almost a given that if a "gold" watch has a stainless steel back, the gold part is plated/gold filled. Value? It's an Omega, a very nice brand. It's a more modern size for modern tastes which will add value. I'd say very vaguely speaking in the 500-600 euro mark. Could be more though. I'd declare it myself. Maybe bring it to a good jewelers for an appraisal.

Me I'd be wearing it again :)

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
