Right, so anyone got some bright ideas on how to dry an Irish passport? I'm open to anything here.. I don't just need the front fixed, I need the Visa pages back aswell.

    It's a ridiculously important Visa journey. :o

Don't put it on the radiator, it will crinkle and wreck it..happened to a friend and they were reluctant to let her on a European flight with it. Id stick it in the hotpress for at least 6 hours and see if its helping. Try not to use direct forms of heat like radiators or hairdryers.

Cancel the flight. They will not let you fly with this passport.

Just pour a bucket of water over your head for the authentic wet-look version.

What kind of washing powder was it? Did you use fabric softner?

    Need more info OP

    Good idea!

A clean passport will draw less attention to your chequered past.

Edit: If you really need to undo the damage put it back in the washing machine but wire it up to run in reverse. The reverse rotation will alter the space time flow within the cylinder thereby restoring your passport from an earlier time. You'll also get your dirty clothes from a few hours ago back though.

Right.. My location in Hanoi. I'm on an Irish passport and I'm talking about Visas. I'm definitely nowhere near a passport office. And I can't leave Vietnam without the passport and I can't stay in Vietnam without leaving to get a Visa.

I don't have a hotpress.. Being Vietnam. It's about 30 degrees here, Just leave it sit in the heat?

If it was me, I'd place paper between each sheet, and put in in a bowl of rice in the hot press.

    If you can, passport office.

Deleted User your light is still green so you are still on, GO ring passport office and if you can't get you sorted, cancel the flight, you do not have the time to stay and gossip here.

    Get a move on.

    Is it bad?

I put mine through the washing machine and it did the job for many flights over 3 years before I was told to get it replaced.

Was getting it photocopied, came home, threw jeans in the wash for tomorrow. I'm not a smart man it would seem.

The front page with the photo is absolutely fine but my Visa is fairly manky. It's shlt cause I just got a one month extension stamp through a connection in immigration and I'd rather it didn't get scrutinized since it's completely against immigration rules right now to give them.

If I get a new passport, I have to get my Vietnamese Visa into the new one which is a seriously long process... And that's a Visa I shouldn't even have.

    Fuk.

I can only imagine the mess in here if an immigrant to Ireland came on and stated something similar.

He's still on, I am looking forward to the next series of banged up abroad, when an Irish man tried to fool Vietnamese custom officials with an obvious fake document.

Does it say on your Terms & Conditions that you can't use a wet passport ?
If not I'd just use it and be done with it.

Dry it out (not closed) and hope.

Stick a few bob in it before you hand it over to the official in the airport.

Or a note saying "Me love you longtime". Wear lipstick.

Make a pot of coffee, then drink it, and start making burgers.

It probably won't help but you shouldn't go hungry worrying about it!
