Sorry if there is a thread on this already. I have a couple of questions.

    1) Is anyone planning on doing this race??
    2) Have people done it before??
    3) Is it a good course for a PB??
    4) Is it a 1 lap course??
    5) Is it worth the €22 prize fund??

    Thank you all

    1. Yes
    2. No, but its the same route as NCBI 10k last month
    3. Not a good route for PB
    4. 2 Lap course
    5. No, but its for charity

To be clear, the route is not the same as Great Ireland Run

Do many people do it? Is it for serious runners or will there be runners doing it around the 60 minute mark.

There will be plenty coming in at 60m mark. There will be serious runners, but more aimed at fun run market.

See link for results in previous year

    Results here.

Nice course, good conditions, great to run in a relatively small field. Good cause too.

Turned out to be a lovely morning for the race, well organised, small field (probably a lot down to the weather earlier on in the morning) and fantastic cause.
    Well done all

I enjoyed this race, found second time in the furry glen and glen road tough going though. Miserable morning but by the time the race started it was fine. I did have the course a bit short, my garmin had it at 6.13mls, which is the best part of 200mts under. Dissapointing that there was only 230 running. It's for a good cause, all the proceeds go to the charity not sure why the it's not getting bigger numbers.

    No advertising.
    No prize money.
Expensive for what you get - compared to (say) Docklands or Terenure etc..

Thats a bit harsh comparing it to the Docklands race. Docklands 8k is 20 euro, and 3 euro late charge which brings it to 23 euros, late sign on for arc was 25 for 10k. So better value in Arc.

The goodie bag for Arc is better that Docklands also, fair enough you get a free techincal tshirt at docklands but they are a very poor quality and nothing really in their goodie bag except for pack of crisps.

Docklands get too congested, start is a disaster and then a stupid bridge where you can trip!!!

All the entry fee from Arc goes to charity, how much entry fee of Docklands go to charity?

First time doing it yesterday but have to say very well run, tough course and the people helping out were great, very friendly and no business feel to it like some races.

As for distance been short, trees etc down the old furze rd can cause signal inaccruacy. My garmin had it at 9.95.

Maybe I was a bit harsh, if you take into account all the money goes to charity and none of the volunteers got paid, distance was spot on.
