    Help us! We need less so-called infrastructure and the acceptance that cyclists and motorists can share the same stretch of tarmac. Wider, unmarked* roads are the best, imo.

    * i.e. no cycle lane

    Hmm two opposed approaches it appears. Unfortunately we do have people pushing the 'edited' message given by Jon Snow in that clip. The problem is that this has frequently made cycling conditions worse while diverting attention from other more pressing issues.

    100% agree

    However I think there are clearly 2 different attitudes by cyclists... (Some are probably a mix of the two)

    Those who want to get from A to B in the fastest way possible by staying in traffic and filtering with cars. They basically want to be treated as an equal road user (me).

    And then those who fear cars and other road users and want to be segregated from them with there own infrastructure even if it may be slow at junctions. (my mum)

    I don't know if there is a way to accommodate both and think first and foremost the attitude of some drivers needs to be looked at. As Jon Snow eludes to, cyclists are legally equal road users. In fact you have a legal right to cycle on a public road but need to be licensed to drive...
