Commuting Bray to Naas

Job opportunity in Naas necessitates a commuting investigation. AA's routeplanner says it would take 45 mins / 29 miles one way from Bray .. which isn't that much more than my current 25 miles / 37 mins. I'd gain a grand a year not having to go through the M50's toll.

However, when I'm heading Northbound to work along the M50 I regularly see queues trying to get onto the N7. This at around 8.30

The job in Naas is 8.00-5.00 with the potential that I wouldn't be getting out at 5.00pm on the nail everyday. There's the possibility too that I could start a little earlier - say 7.30am and get out at 4.30pm

What would be the commuting be like: there and back?
And are there times you really have to avoid?
Aside from the Red Cow, does it back up anywhere else?

My current commute doesn't see anything much in the way of slow traffic and I've no desire to introduce the likes of it into my life.

All I can comment on is the Red Cow and I had only approached it in the past from m50 southbound lane. It backs up really bad there across all the lanes, but only from about 8.20 on getting worse every minutes up until about 9.20. It's all caused by the Newlands Cross traffic lights with cars trying to get from Clondalkin out onto the N7 or trying to cross onto the Belgard Road to Tallaght. There is a short stretch of bus lane which is clear for buses etc, on the left but there is a garda there about 1 in 20 times, and you can really only chance it if you're taking a left to the Belgard Road

It can take around 7-10 minutes to clear that very short stretch of road and traffic is pretty much moving around 5mp/h at around 8.40.

You could try Tallaght/Kingswood, Tallaght/Citywest or Tallaght/Saggart/Rathcoole. It was never too bad when I travelled it but it's been a while now.
