    Hi Guys,
    Im looking for a router to replace the eircom netopia one.Want to go gigabit for transferring content around house and for future proofing.Budget is tight so would like to keep it as low as possible.

    Cheapest would be a seperate gigabit switch plugged into the Netopia. Even if you have 24Mbps internet through landline, the current wireless should be fine for browsing. Use cable for any heavy transfer use. Note some old laptops more than 5 years old, may not have gigabit wired ethernet cards, they max out at 100Mbps
