    Hi all,

Im just wondering if anyone out there can recommend a software for use in psychological experiements? I have recently started a PhD and will be looking at implicit motivation and priming effects. I.e. i need to measure reaction times..... how fast participants respond (e.g. clicking a button or computer mouse) to stimuli.

I still havent decided on what will be tested......the research question is going to be nailed down in the next month or two but i will most likley need to use a word fragment completion task or a word stem completion task.

Any ideas / recommendations / advice etc?

If you are just beginning a Phd I'll assume you have access to university resources. In which case, I would recommend E-Prime 2.0 to generate your experiments. I was very daunted at first but once I learned the language it gave me great flexibility with my msc project. There is a free one out there which is supposed to be ok too but for the life of me I can't remember the name.
