no word about this - a colleague said today she thought it would be scrapped, that too expensive to implement. anyone any further info on this?

has the legislation been prepared yet or is it being left as it is?

Its in the pipeline, the draft bill is out. vec's will become education and training boards. I believe it will be passed in the autumn but am open to correction.
google it and read away to your hearts content. it will repeal all of the vocational education acts from 1930 to the 2001 acts and many others too.

there is a provision in the draft bill to make non cooperation with the inspectorate a criminal offence, I really wish teachers would inform themselves

    Thanks for that info

I had thought it was all supposed to be up and running by this summer at the latest for the next academic year but then that they were re thinking it

Excuse my ignorance but where would i find a link to the draft bill?

has this bill been circulated to teachers, staff of the vec's yet do you know?

Is there anything teachers can do to get that provision about non co operation with the inspectorate taken out?

Ok, that's great, thanks for that Bdoo and Delphi91 . I will look up the rest over the weekend.

I think there is something giving principals powers to sack teachers too.

Yes, I agree, teachers including me should be and need to get informed about this
