Hi, i bought a heavy item from amazon.co.uk . I dont need it now and would like to return except for the very expensive postage for the item back to the uk address they give on their website. They have a return address on package that i ordered of "dublin 17". The package/product is unopened, can i drop it back to their address in dublin 17? Even posting it to dublin 17 would cost 30% of cost of item but i live near enough and could drive to that address.
    Thanks

I would have thought their address would be free post. Driving to the Dublin address will probably be a waste of time - its gonna most likely be a big warehouse in an industrial estate with f*ck-all people there to actually help you.

If amazon make you pay for postage, ask if they will refund postage costs. Some places do

I returned boots to them last year without paying postage.
Make sure you go into your account and complete the returns process. It generates an RMA which you attach to the box and has address labels etc.

i returned a Microwave to Amazon a few months ago and they refunded in full all my postage costs i just had to send them the details and i think i had a e-mail reciept that i sent them.

i was very happy with them to be honest cause it was a big item and cost about 25 euro to return but within a day or two they had it completely refunded .
