    Hello,
I own a Saab 93 (2005 model) for the past 5 years, last year my key fob failed in the ignition and wouldn't start the car, I called Saab and they stated the key needs a new chip,I brought to garage and cost me 70€, very expensive for a 5 min job.

The same thing has happened again, is there any other place to have this key fob re-chipped without costing such money?

    Any advice much appreciated.

You sure the chip actual goes?

I've had problems in the past were the key fob didn't work and the car went into immboiliser mode. Take the key out try again and it works. Just one of those thing's

Tried that but to no avail, yes its a chip issue. Saab stated it does happen.

So it lasted 1 year, probably just out of chip warranty.
Give them a ring though, they might offer a reduced rate/free.

Damn. I know a very good place in Galway that would be a lot cheaper than that with an original saab key.
