Very strange issue with my golf. It's a mk4 gti. Central locking opened all 4 doors, internal lights come on, I get in and put the key in the ignition. Go to start and I get nothing, it's not even trying to start. Light won't come on, internal lights won't come on, central locking now not working. There's no power in the car at all. Any ideas what happened?

    Flat battery?
    Battery connection loose or corroded?

Modern batteries die almost instantly, none of your old fashioned fading away - one hour fine, next hour dead as a doornail. Get thee to Halfords and get one of them fancy Bosch Silver jobbies, lovely they are..

Or jump start the car and see what happens later. Could have gone flat due to something being left on.

Not convinced on spending big money on a Bosch HSB battery on an old golf that the op prob won't keep for the next 5 years
