    All,

Im tarmacing the drive in the next month or two.

Thing is I have to find the meter and the stop cock at the road as they were covered in. They are there 10 years.

Just wondering if the existing meter is suitable for the new water charges or do I need to replace it. Or is there a better option I should look at now that will mean that I dont have to worry about pipes freezing in years to come.

It would be easier to do while Im looking for it in the first place.
I want to not have to break the tarmac later.

Is there a spec on the meters they will use. I assume the old ones are ok since there is so many of them there anyway.

    One final thing.

If you have a meter already do you still have to pay the standing charge.
If yes would I be better to hold off and get them to locate the meter or replace it as they will be paid anyway.

    D

It's hard to say at the moment. The existing meter would be fine as long as it can still read but my guess would be they would still want to sting you with the cost.
