Open Wound on foot

    Hey guys

I have an open wound on my foot, it started off a scratch, which happened when I was out, it started to get infected over the last few days and it's literally become a fully open wound, some of the flesh has completely gone, taking part of my tattoo along with it.

I've been bathing it in salt water and using savlon healing gel on it, but I was told that the savlon isn't good for open wounds so I started to use Rowarolan powder on it.

I will be going to the doctors tomorrow to get anti-biotics as it's positive that I need them but I'm wondering, am I making a mistake using the Rowarolan powder on it? I've been cleaning it twice per day and covering it with burn bandages so it wont stick to it but it sticks anyway, it's constantly weeping with puss and blood, it's tender all around it and very red and the skin around it is very dried out and sore.

I'm at my wits' end. I almost went to the hospital with it, but the thoughts of waiting to be seen, just for a wound made me change my mind. :(

I'd probably go to an out of hours doctor service. At least you can access a doctor quicker.

You need to see a medical professional ASAP. No one here can give you any medical advice, it's against the rules.
