DSP and Bank Statements

had a Means test interview for JA at which the inspector examined bank statements of mine. She then said she wanted to hold on to them and would post them back to me as she needed to photocopy them. Is the DSP allowed to keep photocopies of your Bank Statements? If so for how long? Thanks
