    I'm sure we'll find a way though.

If the build up to this game were any quieter most of us might forget it was on.

The first choice Liverpool back line is gradually coming back so there's a decent chance of Johnson/Srktel/Agger/Enrique starting ahead of Reina for the first time in quite some time. Ahead of them the only certainly is that Suarez will play, though one imagines the usual suspects will start - Spearing, Henderson, Downing, Gerrard across the middle.

Will Carroll start and will Sterling get any time are probably the most interesting angles to this match for me.

WBA have a fairly long injury/doubtful list though Long and Odemwingie are fit so can pose a threat.

Doubtful Fortuné (hamstring), Olsson (groin), Scharner (illness), Tchoyi (illness)

Injured Gera (knee, 6 May), Morrison (knee, 13 May), Reid (ankle, Aug)

2-0 Liverpool. I think the defence will gain some confidence having Pepe back. Carroll and Maxi to score

Hopefully a decent home win. In McDonalds in Liverpool one at the moment leaching off the free wifi to watch the utd Everton match on my phone. Way too many people with kids here though for it to be anything less than an uncomfortable experience. If the match finishes a draw though, unlikely as that is, I won't mind, and will be in a good mood heading out to Anfield.

I would prefer Everton finishing above us in the league than the Mancs clinching number 20.

Pretty happy with that Liverpool team if that is the starting 11

Interesting line up, no Gerrard or Carra should mean a more coherent and less "after you Sir" team.

lucky we dont have to make that call...

a win today puts us level on games an a point ahead of them

no word on the bench yet? and anyone know if the Bloodzeed SOP is going to have it? or is wolves city going to be on it instead

really gutted with the lack of sterling...

but to be fair, he's a young blood. have to consider the guys who have earned places already. cant be spoiled children about this! :P

good strong squad, with the only omission really being Lucas.

Would love to see Carroll fly it again today...might just jump start this engine yet, its already turning over! :D

    Fabulous.

Let's just not let Sterling play football any more. That's going to be good for his development.

Gerrard injured? Didn't even make the bench

only imagine he is in a grey zone...resting him from reserves because he is on standby for seniors....

no ideal, but its a sign he is really knocking on the door.

Neither is Flanagan. For much of the season neither was Shelvey. It makes no sense.

What really doesn't make sense is having 3 defenders on the bench, including two centre-backs. When was the last time we brought on 3 defenders? Carragher should be in the stand today.

Also, Shelvey was one of our best players against Blackburn, and what reward does he get?

A nice touch at Anfield where Roy Hodgson waited in the corridor to greet his former Liverpool charges as they arrived at the stadium. Hearty handshakes and smiles for all those he managed at Anfield and hugs for Dirk Kuyt and Pepe Reina.

Good on him, hope he gets a decent reception tbh.

    uh oh
The general Twitter buzz on Steven Gerrard's absence from the Livwerpool 18 appears to be that he has suffered a hamstring tweak. .

I probably would have too, the man basically said you are not allowed to play any more football for 6 months. You will get it and get rid of it. Look at the how well he has come on under KK, allowed to take the ball out and start attacks as well as given more responsibility in defence.

Sterling supposedly has an exam tomorrow which may mean there is a valid reason why he is not on the bench.

Could be a paternity test though :pac:
