Hey guys i have to drive over from Kilkenny to Thurles and then get the train from Thurles to Limerick. I was hoping someone had maybe an idea of a good place to park up the car in Thurles for maybe 4-5 hours that would be easy access from the Urlingford side and maybe near enough to the train station but even a 10 min walk would be okay like. Thanks for any replies anyway.

You could just park in the train station? Its either €2 or €4.
Or are you exclusively looking for free parking.
Station is close to town centre so all the nearby streets are pay to park.

plus costcutters are a local private business and they are good enough to turn a blind eye to some locals using the park in the hope/expectation that those people will support the shop.
I think its a bit unfair to encourage people to use it for parking for the train station; things like this are what cause business to tighten up on parking to the detriment of locals.

OP if you are unwilling to pay the charge in the train station perhaps park down near the government offices Stradavoher on the mart road (never sure if this is officially the holycross road as there ase two roads to holycross) over from the honda garage.

Forgot about Lidl and of course they are not ' a local private business'. All the same if you call in and ask one of the managers in mckevitts they won' have a problem either. Just pick up some of there veg or something once a week on your way home
