Immersion Heater

Hi. My old immersion water heater wasn't working so I rang the plumber to come out to have a look at it. I wasn't there on friday but he came out and replaced it and rang me to say it was fixed now. Before if I switched it on I would have piping hot water in about 40 mins. This one is heating the water in fairness and while it is warm I do have to be leaving it on for maybe 2-3 hrs before it gets hot, and even then not fully piping hot. Would I have reason to call him back to have a look at it?

The 'stat may be set too low.

Can I set that myself to a higher level?

Switch off the power, remove the immersion cover, you'll see the 'stat, adjust using the little screw in the centre.

New ones come factory set at 60oC for safety. Maybe your old one was higher. I've seen some set for 80oC
