    are quick links reusable , i just bought a couple of spare ones in the shop and although it says they are reusable on the packet the guy said not too . does it vary by brand . think my ones are kmc

    I reused one once. A few months later my chain snapped while out on a spin in the middle of nowhere and no spare one with me. The same day I didn't bring a phone!!! Haven't reused one since!

    If it is the KMC 10sp missing link you have then yes it is reusable up to a point. It is no stronger than a link on your chain so discard it when replacing the chain.

    i could have worded my origional post a bit better ..

    what i meant was is it ok to take link apart for cleaning the chain and then re use it again
