Maybe this has been done before but wonder what peoples Pro’s and Con’s are for each Android skin or UI by a major manufacturer.

Would love to hear what people think of each and vote accordingly too. Things like widgets, usability, speed, etc would be a start but please add any details you see fit

Here are the major manufacturers that I can think of so far and their respective UI (please update me with any additions or corrections)

Acer – Breeze or Ring UI
    HTC – Sense UI
    LG – LG UI
    Motorola - Motoblur
    Samsung - TouchWiz
    Sony – Sony UI
    Android – Vanilla UI

Which UI do you prefer 14 votes

    HTC – Sense UI

    LG – LG UI

I was going to vote Sense but then I realised I have only ever used either Sense or Vanilla. So I don't think it would be fair of me to vote when I haven't experienced the others.

Although I have seen TouchWiz in action and hate it quite a bit.

I've used Vanilla, Sense and TouchWiz <-- and that would be my order of preference.

Sony haven't meddled with the ui much. The launcher is muck but once you change that it's great. I actually prefer some of the changes they made over stock.

What type of fone comes with vanilla? Is it an option you can choose with every android fone?

Only nexus devices come with it standard.
Custom roms like cyanogenmod are available for a lot though if you root

Ok just to maybe get this going again have people tried the Launcher options like Go Launcher, ADW, Adroid 2.3 Launcher etc

I have been using Sony UI for a few days now and still finding my way around but so far I would prefer the Sense UI as it just seems more polished

+1 for negative thoughts on Touchwiz as it seems a little messy and is not up to Sense by a long shot

Over the years I have been through plenty of Launchers.

At the end of the day there is very little different in any of them and the thing that makes one better than the next is minor tweaks or functionality change that suite what you want.

The only way to find out which one is best for you is to try them out. You can easily spend weeks trying to find the one for you.

The ones's I've used are only Sony's UXP and Samsung's TouchWiz. Don't really like either very much and always end up with a launcher from the market.

From the market I've used Launcher Pro, ADW Launcher, 7 Launcher and Go Launcher. The one I have used the longest is Go, so i'd say it's my favourite.

In the poll I picked Vanilla, because that's the one I'd prefer came on every phone!

Go also my favourite launcher but there are now so many its hard to choose as I would probably be kicked out of the house if I spend too much more time with my phone!

Another note or question for people is what lock-screen you use if not using stock? I used Agile Lock and really liked that over the Sense lock-screen on the Desire

I had paid version of ADW for 2.1 - 2.3, but now that I'm on 4.0, I don't really need a lot of the options it offered.

Since ICS I have used Nova and Trebuchet, they are both brilliant. Probably prefer Nova Launcher but am currently running Trebuchet as it's built into CM9.........actually just discovered the cube transition for homescreens on Trebuchet, so all in all think it's probably the best

I'd like Sense, Touchwiz etc a lot more if they acted like ADW, Go Launcher etc.

i.e., if they were just a preinstalled launcher app, and you could revert back to vanilla if you wanted. Aside from anything else, it would mean proper separation between the base Android code and the manufacturer's overlay, so Android updates could be provided a lot faster

Nova got a great update today(especially for the Prime version). I was using Apex but this has made me switch
