Elvery's ab wheel with off centre handles

What is the idea of the off centre handle placement option in this wheel? I'm guessing it is supposed to make the exercise harder using a cam like effect but how does it work in reality. Can both handles be placed in the "low" or "high" poistion rather than one low and one high as in the pic

I do a lot of ab wheel work but have never used (or even heard of until now) a wheel with the handles in this position and would like to hear of other people's opinions before I spend 17.99 on this wheel. Thanks

I have one with off centre handles, but not like the one you linked.

Its the one on the left, both handles are still in line

I don't like it, I got it on ebay and never saw that it was off centre or I wouldn't have got it. It gives really uneven rollouts, I much prefer 'rollouts' on gym rings.

I found the pic of that abwheel on this site which has homemade stuff on it, and says this of the wheel
It promises to give that extra stretch at the end of the motion - which it does. Is this really desireable though - that little bit extra at full stretch may sound tempting but due to being at the extreme end of ROM, this is uncontrollable.

If you are stuck with handles in the position you showed I think it would be even more weird/awkward, I wouldn't buy it without having a go first. Searching amazon I see none like that, which is probably a telling sign.

Most say they are good, if somebody does have a bad opinion make sure they are not mixing them up with infomercial abrocker type devices.

I would sooner get rings before the ab wheel though, but you need somewhere to put them of course.

There are also individual ab wheels with 2 wheels on each.

The few times I've done roll outs I just grab an aerobics barbell and two small rubber plates. Any cheap barbell set would work,

You can also buy a cheap skateboard.
    Roll outs
Feet on it, knees to chest
    Feet on it pikes
One hand on it, push ups, with single arm extension.
    Hamstring work
    etc etc

I just think the ab wheel is a little limited for the money you pay.

Took this quickly this morning after a session to give some ideas. They really do need to make a mini tripod for iphone!

Lately I've been trying to make ab rollouts harder so bought a weighted vest and also the Elvery's wheel for 19.99. The handles can be put in the centre, both on one side or staggered. The wheel is bigger than my Everlast wheel that I was gotten in Argos, see photo (Argos doesn't seem to sell ab wheels anymore though?)

Rollouts with both handles on the same side feel strange and uncomfortable. Staggered handles are more comfortable but I'm not sure of the benefit. I think a weighted vest using a wheel with the handles in the centre is probably a better approach.
