What is going on with that village? The state of the road is absolutely appalling. They dug up random section and put down a temporary scratch surface of Tarmacadam/Bitumen and now the whole stretch of road from one end of the village to the other is left at random levels with no graded ramps at all only sharp 'bumps'. All of the contractors machines have been parked up in the square with hazzard tape around them for past few days. This job has been going on for 3 weeks now - crazy situation!

The contractors hit an underground petrol tank, hence the delay.

Not from Ballygar .. but close by. It's absolutely shocking. This job is still going on. They have dug down 30cm in spots and are just resurfacing it ad-lib. I though private contractors were supposed to be more efficient but these lads are taking the p1ss altogether. They are not even going to resurface the worst bits either - sure going up to the junction for Murray Timber Group is all patched as well and they are not even going near that. It's a bloody joke - it's running into its 6th week at this stage! There is plenty of room to close the road, allow local traffic to the square (let people park there and do their business) and then redirect traffic the very short distance out the slip road for ballyforan and then back in behind the village - this way they could get a good run at the resurfacing...

The contractors seem to have abandoned the road works in Ballygar entirely! The road is left in an absolute disgrace. Has anyone heard what's going on in Ballygar or why it's left this way?
