I work in retail. My company insist that, every employee takes their holidays in a certain way. Two weeks in spring and two weeks in summer. Since I havent took any holidays so far this year (dont need to, have plans for summer), I have received memo from my supervisor. It said that two weeks of spring holiday will be assign for me since I havent took any yet. Basically my supervisor want to send me on holiday against my will and at the time that not suits me.

Question is, is that legal? Can my company do that? There are already restrictions as to holidays (cant take any in december since it busy period for retail). Can company put such rules in place (two weeks holiday spring/summer and no changes allowed) and force to abide them? Would love to hear some thoughts on that.

    Thanks in advance.
    Daniel

I'm afraid the employer can decide when you take your holidays, once they've given you enough notice. They are supposed to take some heed to your own personal needs, but theres nothing really you can do about it i'm afraid.

    Contact NERA for moe info.
