Being pushed out of position due to bad manager

    Hi,

A few weeks ago my manager pulled me aside advising me that they think I should apply for work else where in my workplace, in other areas of interest. I am in a fairly small team (7 people) and I'm also the only one with a University degree in the team. My manager claimed (in a round about way) that they do not think their management style works with me (as in they are a really poor manager who can only manage "yes" people who do not question or seek to further themselves).

Has anyone else had this where they are singled out in a team, even though they work harder than most in the team?

A little back story - the last member of the team who left (also with a University degree) was also "pushed" along to another job by the manager.
