Dropbox .edu question

    I'm trying to max out my free dropbox space (I've already been to the referrals thread) I'm just wondering is it possible to get a .edu email address without being a student in an american college? Has anyone done this successfully?

    I googled it alot and found a way to sign up to one of those community colleges but it doesnt work anymore.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    You don't need a .edu account. If you have a student email that isn't a .edu then just raise a ticket with them and they'll sort it for you.

    As far as I'm aware, .edu (or student accounts for the sake of this argument) got 500mb per referral which gave them double space, with the recent change that all free users now have 500mb referral space, I believe this makes the whole purpose of an .edu (or student account) invalid as they did not get their space re-doubled i.e. they are still on 500mb per referral, the same as free users now.
