Car Insurance

Hi, im 17 and im currently on a provisional license. I'd like to get insured for the summer months, but under my brothers name. He said his insurance is €1000 per year (don't know if this is true or not) but if this is the case how much would it cost me to get insured under his name? The car is a 1.8L tdi Golf Thanks :)

Slim to none. No insurer is going to want to put you on that car. Nor are they obliged to.

Why don't you just ring his insurance company? They are the only ones that can tell you.

My insurance on 1.3 IS €289 per year, with my 19 year old as a named driver, I was quoted €1250. I thought that was quite good. I paid £1650 for my first year as a named driver!
