    Hi All,

I have SKY and have so for years. Last year I upgraded to 2 boxes with and have had no problems until this week and especially today. I got a few "no satellite signal being received" messages that were fixed with a restart.

Today the restart stopped working :(. It did come back for a few minutes but is gone again.

Any Ideas? There is no new buildings or anything blocking the signal and the dish hasn't moved as I checked.

    Cheers
    Ste.

You using single feed mode? what hardware are ye running? anything strange happen before signal drop? have ye monitored the signal meter for a period of time?

There could be many or only one reason

Go into the menu and check the signal levels. If it is a plus box check the levels on both tuners.

If it's a plus box swap the leads to the dish and see if there is a difference on the signal level received. (and quality)

If it is the Dish, then the Dish can move in more than one axis, more than likely its the arm that has moved rather than the dish itself.

how old is your dish/lnb and the installation itself? funny things happen with age :(

OK I have signal again this morning. In work now so can't check anything until later.

The signal levels were 0, nothing, last night. I checked this.

Dish is about 10 years old but I only upgraded to plus last year so the Quad Lnb is only a year old.

Thanks for your help. I'll spend some time monitoring the signals later today to see if there is something strange happening.

If the dish is 10 years old then it's probably very rusty, especially where the nuts and bolts are.

If you attempt to re-align the dish it may fall apart. Chances are you need a new dish, and need it re-aligned.

If you can afford it get it professionally installed and get a triax or other non mesh dish. These will last longer.

If you have a Sky subscription, which you seem to have, you can say to Sky you are going to leave if they do not fix the problem for free. Generally they will come out for free if you push them enough on the phone. Otherwise it could be 100 euro
