Loop out connection problem

I am substituting a Technomate 6900 HD as my fixed satellite receiver replacing a Skyplus box which is getting the boot.

My problem is I have the Sky aerial input and the two RF outs feeding a HDD/DVD and then looping the terrestrial signal out to the other Tvs in the house.

The TM6900 has two RF outs but when I plug the RF to the HDD and the other to the loop out I get no signal on either.

The TM is working ok as the satellite connection works (pic on the main TV) and also the terrestrial aerial input on the TM is ok as its a combo and once again I can get a pic on the main TV.

Any ideas why I cannot get any feed to either the HDD/DVD or on the feed out to other TVs in the house.

    All suggestions gratefully recieved!

It would seem that there is only 1 output from the modulator (unlike the Sky box).

What kind of tuner does the HDD/DVD have?

    Its a Panasonic HDD/DVD/VCR EX95.

    Cheers.

I linked the coaxs outputs to the HDD on the RF Output (below the Terrestrial coax input) on the TM and the TV loop-out to the RF Output UHF 21-69 (next to the compenent jacks on the rear of the TM).

Its not critical I can leave the Skybox on for the Free channels and this will maintain the loop out etc but will have no additional record facility (the TM has a USB connection for either a stick or ext HDD which would be handy).

If I understand you correctly then you should have a feed of the off-air terrestrial signal to the recorder's tuner & the feed from the modulator to the other tvs.

Can't understand why you'd have no signal of any kind available.

Thanks for coming back - just checked the board - been rejigging my motorised system today so haven't tried again.

It's as you say and I cannot understand it either - will maybe try again tomorrow can't fiddle with it now as it knocks out the other house TVs while I'm messing around and thats a recipe for domestic unrest!!

    Cheers

Found the problem the RF out power from the Skybox was running the dist system in my loft. Aerial guy fitted a small power source on the RF out from the TM6900 and everything is now ok.

Thanks to those who came back to me.

:o I should have thought of that, the popular Global 'Loftboxes' are one such distribution unit.

Had a quick look behind the TV the make of this power booster is 'Global' its about 2" by 1" (very small) hardly know its there but it makes a heck of a difference!
