    my HTC hd rebooted itself today and seems to have gone back to factory settings I have lost all numbers is there anyway i could get them back

    Not unless you had them backed up to your Google account or SD card or something.

    check they're really gone first (it's not just using a different phonebook or something like that) and then log into gmail on a computer and check your contacts there to make sure everything is still stored there.

    if they are, then you can export your contacts in case something goes wrong and you lose them all in the process of trying to restore them on your phone.

    then, on your phone just log into your google account and see if it restores the missing contacts, which it would normally do automatically, for instance when you get a new android phone.

    Try checking the View Contacts setting in the People app

    go to
    All Apps -> People -> menu -> View


    Then make sure you have a tick in the appropriate box
