The Lemonheads - It's A Shame About Evan

I'm just back from seeing the Lemonheads at the Acadamy... and...

    Wow.

And not in a good way.

I last saw them in 1992 in Memphis Tennessee... The whole band was tripping on acid, yes, they were... they could, by the end, barely stand up... and yet, it was a much better gig than tonight.

Dando, more than when he was a junkie, behaved like someone that didn't give a **** about himself, the songs, the other musicians in the band, the fans in the crowd or looking like a fool.

His vocals were at best, mediocre and at worst, sub-"some guy on the street who can barely sing and is probably drunk".

Honestly, a massive waste of time...

They played about 1 hour 15 mins and in that time they left the stage at least three times... for over five minutes.. they played about 15 songs as a band and even so struggled on a few occasions ... "how do we start this one" etc.

If you want to enjoy the Lemonheads, put on a CD and sing along... do not go see this band. Ooooof.

I was at his gig in the Village when he played solo.

He got up, played the tracks from "Its a Shame about Ray" one after another without acknowledging the crowd at all. He seemed really down or maybe he didn't give a sh*t. He livened up near the end.

Having said that his voice was pretty good so I enjoyed it (the Village gig) .

He basically said nothing the entire night. And jis voice was atrocious on all but a few tunes.... he's also a hard guy to really dislike, but man... tonight was a stinker...

Good channel from that uploader btw..spirtualized dont look great either ..I like the bands in the academy but not the venue ..Button Factory is much better.
plus maybe the academy is reminding these bands them just how long ago the 90's and their heyday was.
Whats the saying never see your heroes but that ain't always true either.
