What's a good wage for a standard 39 hour week these days?
Even though if you can get minimum wage you're doing well, but what would people consider decent?
I think between 600e - 700e a week is good going before tax.

With all the Levys and taxes maybe an in the hand value is more important here!

I reckon €500 pw isn't bad, any more is a bonus! Maybe what you spend is justvas important as what you earn though

But that is only 26000 a year.
A teacher starts on 29000 to give some perspective.

Any wage over the dole is a good wage, no room for being choosy anymore!

Is that 29000 before or after taxes/Levies? Agreed that any job over the dole is better!

Well if you're making 15000 on a 39 hour week you're working below minimum wage, so that's not good.

Depends on where your living and working. No point in saying 600-700 a week before tax is good if your spending 100 quid on fuel and 300 in rent.

Not necesssarly, as soon as some people start working a full 39 or 40 hour week, they start incurring extra costs, relating to travel expences and childcare, both applicable to myself, my childcare costs are minimal as I have some good after school care, however even at that, some of the salaries on offer at the moment don't cover my costs.

To be honest, I could manage on about 25'000 but very few of the positons in my area ( secretarial/Admin) are even offering this.

Its a difficult situation but I keep plugging away. I am hoping it gets better.

Applying for jobs is my current job.
