Does anyone know where/if I can buy trimmings for an Irish costume? [not a dance costume] I'm thinking something like iron on celtic embroidery,celtic design lace [preferably gold] celtic design braid or sequin shamrocks etc. I have tried Trimmings on Aston Quay [by phone] and Hickeys and also some dancing shops with no luck. If you look at the picture, I need to put some Celtic type decoration where there is tartan on the front. I also need one of those tie belts called a crois [I think] A tall order I know, any suggestions would be very welcome. Its for my niece who has been invited to a wedding in Paris, the guests are all different nationalities and have been asked to wear national costume!! Also is there anyone in the Wicklow/Dublin area who does machine embroidery, a lot of the dance costumes are embroidered by machine now, so that is also an option.
