Great evening, there were a little over 30 cyclists altogether and 3 laps of the old course was used rather than up and down on the main road.

There were three groups with the first group getting 3 minutes on the second group who got 1 minute on the scratch group. Stats below are for middle group which was caught by the scratch group at the end of the second lap and both groups caught the first group on the final quarter of the third lap.

Even though this was the first one of the summer the pace was very high from what I remember from previous years. Possibly due to good conditions, some strong cyclists and lots of enthuasiasm !

    Hi,

Would love to try it (in the beginers group!!), but totally confused by what CI licence I need.
I am a member of a local cycling club but not sure what I need after that.
I was on the CI website, but they don't make it easy!!!

    Regards

    Liam

Anybody on holidays down this way welcome to join in, club competition license needed. Numbers small compared to other club races, you're quite likely to find yourself working.

Yes the people organising it have changed and at the moment numbers are slightly down but it is still running. See

I will be in that general neck of the woods soon. I might make one or two of these. I might chance the Dolmen open race on the 29th too - where is that being held?

Start is just outside Ennis, sign on in Auburn lodge hotel. See

The races are nice and long for the respective categories and well worth doing.

Thanks a million. I'm not "a leading light of the racing community" but 108km in the Banner looks just the job.
