Regular Boiler vs System Advice needed

OK have got hold of a nearly new Worcester 40 CDI regular Boiler. However My current boiler is a system boiler with Built in Pump and expansion.

Is it worth putting in a pump and Expansion to use this boiler as my current is a D class and this is an A rated.

    any help appreciated.

Reason I need a new boiler is that the extension has pushed this Vokera to its limit and cannot heat all rads. They have been balanced a few times but its just not powerful to do 18 rads. It also has the biggext heat exchange already in.

Blindly chucking in a 40kW boiler isn't a solution, it's a guess, have someone out to look at your installation and size it correctly, oversizing the boiler will just increase your fuel costs

Also a second hand boiler is only as good as the fella who removed it.

Thansk for the Not so hepful comments.

Just as an FYI - My Local Heat merchants and a Plumber sized the boiler and gave me 3 Boilers one was a 40 CDI

This boiler was installed by a Britsh Gas Engineer and removed by them 11 days after it was installed.

My only mistake was that this is a regular boliler and I have a system boiler

So Would it be viable/expensive to install a pump and expansion or would it be better to try and get a system boiler ?

Thanks for any advice in advance

FYI. I was trying to be helpful and didn't want you ending up with the wrong boiler twice

    Expansion vessel 30-40 euro
    Pump approx 100 euro

For me I would boost for an a rated modulating pump like a grundfoss alpha well worth the extra 80 or so

I'm ex British Gas and a boiler manufactures technician, it's very common for a boiler that's come of the wall to have issues after its rehung.

Apologies guys if I was a bit narked ...

    Thansk for the pump advice
DGOBS is the grundfoss alpha2 15/50 is that the one ? Seems like its a install and forget punp it does all the business by itself.:)

also have one other question regarding the Worcester.

There is a space on the unit for a pressur gage (currently does not have one) is it just a as simple of buying a worcester gage for the 40CDI) Ive got a feeling its not.

    thanks

    again for any advice

The Alpha2 15/50 will be too small for a 40kW boiler. You will require at minimum the 25/60 or the 15/60.

Regarding the gauge, just put a filling loop and separate gauge or a filling loop that a gauge can be screwed into.

Put plenty of inhibitor in the system and generally stick with a decent tried and tested brand.

Did you have the boiler checked to confirm it puts out 28kw and have you confirmed the gas line is acceptable as it would have to be increased if the exsisting is to small to fed the larger boiler.
