Hi All, I am looking to have built a 5x8meter timber frame insulated worshop/garage, are there any companies out there that construct these like timber frame dwelling's, I got a quote recently from a builder and I thought it was expensive enough, dont want the block built construction as theres all ways a huge mess after this. not sure yet what type cladding I want, has anybody used weatherboard?

Mediate in Clonmel have just brought an external weather board type product to market (Tricoya) claiming 50 years + resistance to the elements.. perhaps it would suit your needs (I'm not sure of the price though - but I've been lead to believe there's little or no maintenance..) excuse the naming of a product Mods, but I don't believe its in competition with any other Irish product
regarding your proposed structure - see http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2001/en/si/0600.html#sched2 as you may find that this area requires planning permission
