Advice please on making a decision, would I be better off with a 2005 1.8 petrol Rav 4 or a 2005 2l diesel Suzuki Grand Vitara. I wouldn't do big mileage, about 10k a year.

Both are in good condition with low mileage and the same price.

They'll be closer than you'd think consumption wise. I'd go the rav as they're way less complicated

Different cars are good at different things. The more information you give on what you need from the car, the better able people will be to guide you.:)

Purchased a rav 4 a few weeks back. Pleasantly suprised so far. its the 1.8 vvti. Suprisingly nippy. Havent done the mpg check yet but doesn't seem too thirsty. Lovely driving position also.

I did consult the brainy boardies on my motor choice. Had been thinking of pushing out the boat for a Honda Accord. I had even suggestions to perhaps look at the mazda 6.

There marjority of views were go for the Honda, but two factors pushed me to the Rav 4..

    1. Budget
    2. Lack of Bravery:o

I would def consider the Rav4 if i were you. Good luck.

p.s. Thanks to all for their suggestions.... don't worry Honda, i will be back, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow...
