A4 1.8T Quattro - Gearbox/driveshaft issue ?

Just recently experiencing a weird problem with 02 quattro. Particularly noticeable in 1st / 2nd gear, and more so when fully laden. Feels like there is slippage on acceleration. Feels like its from main drive shaft / gearbox location. ( Clutch done at 90K - currently at 125K ). I'm sure that it will worsen with time and will most likely be a costly repair, but just curious as to members opinions.

sounds like a clutch, but i am not sure, could be clutch slave cylinder, might not disengage fully . 1 and 2 gears are most powerful, so they make clutch slip.

    just my 2 cents.

Yeah. it does sound like the clutch is fried. Try pulling away in third gear and see is the clutch slipping.

Im confident that the clutch is good. Only 35K - no hard driving. Thinking its something more serious :-(

contamination on friction plate(any oil leaks?)
    or
    slave not releasing fully
    or
    worn flywheel face
    or
weak pressure plate clamping force (pedal may feel a bit lighter)

Oil leak, yes. Thought maybe a possible DMF problem ? Expensive diagnosis I'm sure.
