    Imagine everyone to handle money electronically

    Ideally, muggings from scum bags would decrease or be non-existent. This seems to be the only pro I can think of, maybe the problem of not forgetting your wallet too.

    Cons, are not being able to hide money from government, hacking would occur, barter and under-the-table arrangements would be non-existent, would require much more admin, and hence a wast of tax money ...

    On the other hand illegal immigrants would be up shyte-creek ..

    I saw the thread title and was expecting a thread on improved VAT and PAYE receipts contrasted with fewer professional fees being spent on audits of those tax heads. Damn did I get that wrong!
