    Hi there

I happen to have a 2004 1.6 petrol (which I will be selling myself very soon) and they are a super reliable car. The usual parts to go in them are suspension related but can be got very cheap as after market parts, e.g., drop-links, ARB bushes. You will find that the suspension on the Vectras is a bit on the firm side.

Some say the 1.6 engine is too weedy for the large size body but I found that, while you won't win any 0-60 races, it's absolutely fine. It's a also an assured, comfortable ride on the motorway.

Yes, they are heavy enough on juice. I got 37 MPG on a long run and mid-twenties around town. A full tank (about 86 euros) returned 370-400 miles of mixed driving.

    Hope this helps.

Is this with a view to using it as a taxi? I believe you'll have to get it tested as a psv anyway straight away. Wouldn't be the best choice really, its cheap though which is a plus. THe likes of a petrol Mazda 6 would be far better imo.

She's just about to hit 100k miles. My bottom price on the car will be 2.5K as I have put a lot of work into the car in the 3 years I owned her:

    - Fantastic audio system installed (Pioneer USB headunit + matching Pioneer Bluetooth box behind glovebox)
    - NCT to 04/14
    - Timing belt done 10k ago
    - New brake pads front and rear
    - New front suspension parts
    - New front offside wheelbearing
    - New battery
    - Front and rear bumpers fully resprayed due to scuffs
    - Various other parts in previous years

She's good for another 100k miles. I'll be bringing it down to Galway the next time I'm going there and my brother will put it up on Donedeal for me. He reckons 3k is achieveable down there but I'd be happy with 2.5k for a quick sale. Send me a PM if you're interested.
