Ive created recovery disks from windows - they fail at 32%
Ive tried to recover from the recovery partition - same - dies at 32%

Ive swapped memory / hard drive and DVD rom - same.

Ive loaded Win7 as a test and its fine. So it appears Ive a corrupted partition producing corrupted recovery DVDs

Where to get working recovery dvds from?

Thanks. That win7 link will be useful for another computer.

It's vista home premium. If I had vista home premium sp2 I could repair the op Sys. Is there a vista home premium down load page like that?

I may end up having to buy the rec DVDs from Sony but I hate to do that. The laptop was already paid for with op Sys.

    Thanks

Vista links were removed only a few months ago, page is still there, Microsoft want people to upgrade I suppose.

No legal download link that I can find for it now.

Shouldn't be to expensive to get from Sony + you'll know it's not tampered with than if getting it from a dodgy source.
