Sweet Potato has a very bland taste and i normally use with other veg and roast, its lovely like that, i also use it for soup. Hope this helps.

I don't find it bland at all, personally. My favorite way is to slice it quite thin and lay it out on a baking tray, sprinkle some salt and pepper and cook at 180 for about 20 minutes, turning a few times.
Doesn't need oil or anything, that makes it too soggy. This way it should turn out crispy around the edges and a little soft in the centre.

I have sweet potato most days. Peel it,cut it into chunks and steam it most of the time. Takes around 10 mins and turns out pretty nice. Generally not a good idea to boil most veg. This is pretty nice with salt/pepper and paprika.

The other thing I do with it is sweet potato chips.

Olive Oil + Pepper + Salt + Paprika on a baking tray and toss cut up sweet potato. Bake at around 200 degrees for 15 or 20 mins. They don't generally turn out soggy for me, don't let them touch each other on the baking tray.

Prick it with a fork, pop it in the microwave.

Scoop out the soft cooked potato and mash with salt & pepper (or cream cheese or sweet chilli sauce)

Eh, I think there might be something wrong with your taste buds. :)

I just bake them whole in the oven at 200 for about 45 mins. I like them soft with some real butter. Delish.

Dunnes have them on special at the moment - a bag of 3 for 29c that you microwave in the bag.
I usually cook mine in the mirco
Or I cut them in chunks and cook them around a roast chicken.

Just remembered, sliced one one up and and made chips out of it for the first time a few weeks. They were great. Used some olive oil as I was in a friends house, would have used coconut oil if I was at home.

Oven chipped and baked: seasoning is good

I cut them up into chips, tried freezing a whole batch hopefully they stay good :s
I have one of those one spoon of oil for a KG of chips cookers so I use a quick spray of oil on a handful of them leave them cooking for 25 minutes

I find the taste of them and the crispiness goes really well with a whole load of green beans.

(mm reminds me Green beans with a bit of red pesto and Quorn chicken pieces also quite tasty, ah its 11pm you've got me thinking about food!)

I've just fried some in beef tallow, I wouldn't be overly gone on sweet potato but that was seriously good!

Yes, you still need portion control unlike other veg but its good a lot more good stuff in it nutritionally and doesn't raise your blood sugar as quickly (low GI white potato is High GI)

    Who's a bitch?

Going to try sweet potatoes this week for the first time. Will try them like ordinary spuds first, but the addition of cottage cheese sounds interesting!

Dice it, add a chopped clove of garlic, a dash of olive oil and bake in the oven.

    Scrummy
