    Hi,

I'm trying to find what radio shows would regularly discuss books or interview authors (especially self help books, health etc). It's for a book I am getting published soon, but the publishers are British/American and not overly familiar with Irish radio set up.

    I was thinking maybe

    - Ryan Turbidy or Colm Hayes on 2fm
    - Moncrief on Newstalk
    - Ray Darcy on Today Fm

    Has anyone got any suggestions?

    Many thanks

Pat Kenny seems to talk to authors the whole time these days...to the detriment of the show I should add.

Arena with Seán Rocks on RTÉ Radio 1 talks to authors a lot. Not sure which evenings it is though. You can tweet them @RTEArena!

Matt Cooper on The Last Word on Today FM

Arena would be more into discussing fiction and poetry rather than self-help books though

tubridy was always discussing books. I gave up listening to show last year though as i got sick of him. Apparently the show has improved since the summer but i find it difficult to believe. He had a series of articles about being a bookworm in the Irish Independent two years ago so he could be worth a go.

Sean Moncrieff often discusses books on Newstalk and interviews the authors although he seems to specialise more in unusual / quirky book so it may depend on what your book is about.

    Thanks folks.

Made down a list of them.

Yeah, I checked out Arena and though it appears to be one of the more regular book discussing shows, it does indeed seem to be more art/fiction.

I think the book may just be unusual enough for Moncrief (worth a try anyway) and I promise Telekon to try and not drag down the show if end up on Pat Kenny :) .

I'll get publisher to contact all the other shows mentioned

    Haha. :D

Sorry if that sounded rude, just that I love his show but only for the first half hour these days (the current affairs bit) as he does a lot of cooking/music/book sections now. I'm just selfish really...

    Good luck with it. :)

If you can hold out until just before Christmas Liveline dedicates a full show to works similar to yours.
