    white grass in newly reseeded ground .is the ground lacking in something ? thanks

    white?? yellow I presume. stick a picture up as it the quickest way to get a decent opinion, a herbage test if you want to know in detail. Grass in parts of the country is looking poor especially where Phosphorus is low, which is further dampened by the cold weather. Recommended P levels in Ireland are too low IMO

    our farms pretty low at moment in phosphourous. going to put out straight phosphate at the end of the year and go with 10/10/20 in between. its supposed to be a very common issue in Ireland and only really shows badly at reseeding. Makes for pretty poor root formation.

    A bag of DAP (20n 16p) spread during the grazing season would help matters along and get slurry on for your source of K. Cold hard Springs are really showing up P shortages. Thankfully we are getting there and most of the farm has okay P levels. Was looking at a soil test last week and the P readings were 28 mg/l:eek:
