    Hey all,

I know your going to ask me to take a look at the FAQ section which I did.

I recently got myself an o2 card. mainly for use on Paypal because they dont accept lasers.

I signed up for the personal account as I'm not a business. Anyways I chose the credit card option when faced with that or my bank.

I then noticed after adding my credit card a transaction of €1 was on my o2 bill straight away from paypal.

The problem now is theat theres no 4 digit code to confirm my paypal account and when I do go to confirm my card which I already did because they took a euro off me they want to charge me another 1.50 to confirm my card and become verified.

This €1 really is a mystery as its not to make my account verified, they just took that €1 off me without stating so!

This happen to anyone else? All I want to do is confirm my card which I cant now cause they took the last bit of money off my card!

That 1 euro should go back onto your card automatically within about 3-7 days.

    If not, no idea :pac:

Think it might get put on your paypal balance.

The 4 digit code will be on your e-statement, have you got and debits from paypal on it?

Look on your online statement, (your 02 transaction in your 02 account) and you should see the amount there to paypal - there will be the transaction id with 4 numbers, you cant miss it, these are the ones to use for the verification back on your pp account. The money they took wont be returned to the card, it goes onto your paypal balance.

That's the problem though, the charge isn't to verify my account, I'm still asked to do that but can't now because of insufficent funds. The 1 euro they took was taken when I added the card during signup. Not for verifying and linking it.

It's not about the lousy 1 euro haha, just kind of annoying when they charge me without telling me, I needed to verify the card for the other night, oh well, moment has passed on by now.

There's no where to enter that code though.

There should be a link on the right hand of the home screen in your paypal account to verify.

Yep there is, says click continue to verify and then says there was an error charging the card and when I look online, I'm getting a declined transaction for 1.50.

Anyways, all's well, I topped the card up and verified. Thanks for the help though, just wish PayPal would notify us the €1 signup charge!

It is not a signup charge, it's to verify the account is yours. By using that 4 digit number they (Paypal) now know you are you and the money gets put back into your account after verification.

The one euro is to verify your card is real and the 1.50 is to verify that you actually own the credit card and have access to statements.

Because you didn't have enough cash in the card the 1.50 transaction failed and therefore paypal think you will not get the code and have not given you an option to enter the code.

The only way to get the option to enter the code is to have the card successfully debited 1.50.

The initial one euro will be returned to your card sometime this week and then you can verify your card with the 1.50 charge.

By the way you do not need to verify your card to use paypal, it just opens up a few more options to you.

    Thanks again for the answers!
