Thinking of Upgrading my Printer

    Hi all,
I currently own a Canon MP150 printer. I bought it around seven years ago and to it's credit, it hasn't given one day of trouble. I'm in college and I use it for printing essays, articles and the like. I pick up my cartridges in Tesco (their generic brand) for around €22 or so per cartridge (that's black and white).
Essentially, I am thinking of upgrading. Is there a printer out there that would tick all the boxes when it comes to: Efficient Printing, Cheap(ish) cartridges, does not break the bank to purchase.

...or am I better to just stick to the one I have. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi MacGrub,
Hmmmm! I'd say if you are happy stay with what you have unless you want a new printer to do a specific job, for example speed, cost, double side printing etc
In terms of the equivalent newer canon models the price of printing per page has gone up ( as has all inkjet printers in the last 5 years )
If you fancy cutting costs of your printing and a really good quality printer I'd recommend the following

Kodak is also a good option however, non brand inks are not currently available so make the printer above a better choice.

STAY AWAY from printers that are priced below € 60, a rule of thumb is that these are priced to crucify you on ink.

Would you condiser one of the newer Canon inkjet. I agree with printer guy to stay away from the cheap option as they tend to break and the cartridges tend to be expensive. I made the mistake of buying a Lexmark 2 years ago and the cartridges emptied my products.

I recently spent a few bob on one becuase im back in college and went for a Canon mg5350. It was a bit more expensive than I wanted but it has double sided printing, scans to a usb and has wifi printing which is the best feature.

I think it was the worth the investment. I bought online and got free delivery to avoid the same mistake I made with the cheap lexmark.

Here is my suggestion hope it helps :)
