Car Vacuum?

I wouldn't bother, they don't have the power.

I too recently was looking for one and all they are good for is hovering up loose crumbs, not hoovering the whole car.

I settled on a mains one with a 600 watt motor and it's still fairly rubbish.

If you can't use your house one try and find a pertol station that has a Hoover.

Got to agree with Mad Muffin.

I had had 2 in my days, and both rubbish. Not enough suction to really clean.

I'm guessing you'd have to go with a Dyson handheld, but then again does that run off 12v?

You could buy a really long extension lead!

I have the next one up from that, got it as a gift.
Its very handy for a quick little hoover, thats not in doubt, but I would always use a mains one if i was really trying to clean it out properly. But for handiness there grand

Cheers guys, the extension lead idea won't work as I live five stories above the carpark :) And I don't want to have to go to a petrol station (and pay) any time I wanna give her a hoover.

I see Woodies seem to have them for about €40 so I'll try to pick one up there. The Amazon reviews for this one are very good, so I'd say it'll be grand 'til we move and I can have a driveway to wash and clean the car.

So it's underground car park? If so check stair rooms. I had exact the same problem till I found that there are sockets actually in the stairrooms. Now I'm just parking my car beside the door and take electricity from there. :D

In your situation your pretty limited anyway so just go for it!
It not going to be like a valet, but it will do the trick!

There are sockets, but they've either been kicked off the walls or just don't work. Plus there's no running water so washing the car means lugging down a 50L bin full of water, and 2 x 20L buckets. Not fun.

Maybe you could get a 12VDC to mains voltage inverter? Run a proper vacuum off that with engine running? Probably just as easy to just do it at the folks place or a friends gaff tho.

Colm, I saw these for sale in Dunne Stores yesterday evening. Maybe check out your local one?

I bought one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Decker-PD1080-10-8v-Dustbuster/dp/B0045CVW38/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1334319155&sr=1-2-catcorr

Its rechargeable and you get about 10 mins out of it which is plenty to do the car. The suction is good for a portable vacuum and its much better for getting into tight areas that the normal rigid ones. There is one that runs off the 12v supply too but the suction is supposed to be poor in comparison.

I saw them in currys for 99 euro or even more but bought it on amazon for around 60 pounds its less now, big saving.
