    Hi there,

Currently building a house and getting ready to start 1st fix. Just wondering has anybody got any ideas/recommendations they would like to share with me as regards the electrical side of things?!

For example a friend of mine was saying to me to wire all the rooms for a sound system so that music/radio can be heard in all the rooms if needed. He was saying that this was very cheap to do at this stage but not so cheap to put in afterwards!

Just wondering if anyone else had some words of wisdom for me!

    Thanks a mil

    - Put at least one double socket in every corner of every room - tis better to be looking at them than looking for them.
    - Put 2 double sockets either side of the bed in the master bedroom - electric blanket, bedside lamp, electric clock, phone charger...
    - Put 6 double sockets behind main TV location - put switch beside main exit door from that room that will turn off 5 of the doubles (this will shut down all your equipment and leave nothing on standby except one double that you can use for some version of recording overnight)
-Put extra sockets beside your central location\office for all audio equipment etc
    -Run cable for outside lights
    -Have some outside sockets
-Have a socket in the eaves (with an inside switch) for the Christmas lights
-Run cable to power your nice waterfall feature in the garden
    -Run cable for electric gates

Run a cable to each window/door for Alarm system
The Wireless systems run on batteries at each window, door, and cost a fortune to replace every 2 yrs, , bring all the cables back to a bedroom, for Control Panel, not the hotpress, as dampness from drying clothes will damage alarm panel.

bring TV system to all rooms from a central point where Sky/UPC box will be, via attic and a signal splitter/amplifier, and put a light and a socket in the attic.

run wires for external waterproof sockets, and a motion sensor beside the oil tank, maybe alarm also.
    Sockets in the Shed.

run cables for telephone points everywhere, the wireless ones are rubbish.
Internet connections, ditto, to a central hub where your internet access will be,

    Good luck
