Anyone know how long I might have to wait for a court summons for having no NCT?

    Up to 6 months.

Thanks. Does that mean after six months the offence becomes "invalid" and they can't prosecute?

Car was traded in that week ( as I told the guard) but he said to expect "several" summons in the post.

They must apply for a summons within 6 months. They can serve it anytime they want thereafter.
