Imported cars - new numbering scheme?

    Is there a new number plate scheme for imported cars? I thought I saw a '05 or '06 Kildare car the other day with a number something like 102345, but I dont' remember seeing anything in the news.

    On the other hand, I probably should have gone to <insert well-known opticians shop here>!!!
