Amazon Mastercard £5 Voucher?

I'm ordering some items on Amazon and I see an option for an Amazon Mastercard which comes with a £5 voucher which can be used against Amazon purchases.

I could do with a discount but I'm cautious about what I may be signing up for. So my questions are:

    1. Can I sign up for this card, use the voucher and never use the card?

    2. It says that signing up will make the card your default purchasing method, but can you still use your original card?

I'm just worried about the extremely high rates of interest, and I really only want to sign up to get the free voucher.

It's probably worth remembering that getting the card to get your £5 discount will make you liable for a €30 annual stamp duty charge on the credit card. The only way to escape this is to never use the card and to close the account in the same year that it was opened. For stamp duty purposes the tax year runs from 2nd April to the following 1st April.

None of these will matter. You won't be able to sign up for that card unless you're a UK resident.

Oh, I see. Thanks for the information anyway!
